Overview
The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) was designed as a lightweight alternative to the Directory Access Protocol (DAP). DAP is part of X.500 family of standards. The LDAP Server is a key part of the z/OS Security Server that provides an easy way to maintain directory information in a central location.
Explore the relationship of LDAP with the z/OS Security Server and its other components. Learn to implement (set up) and use the z/OS LDAP Directory Server on z/OS. Use hands-on labs to reinforce the topics discussed in lecture. Install a sample LDAP server. Experiment using the Resourece Access Control Facility (RACF) and DB2 security options with your installation.
