Full Description:
This class will provide the student with an understanding of the security risks that exist when deploying wireless networks and the considerations, methodologies and tools that allow such risks to be mitigated. Through real-world deployment simulations, this interactive lab-intensive class will provide hands-on experience implementing these tools and methodologies and will provide the in depth knowledge required to design, deploy, and maintain a secure wireless infrastructure. Beginning with an overview of wireless technologies, the class will then identify the specific risks that wireless technologies pose to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business-critical information. Students will learn how to identify the needs of an environment and design a wireless network to meet these needs.
Throughout the process, the students will learn to identify appropriate security measures and will explore secure design methodologies through the use of interactive labs and classroom demonstrations. Students will learn how to authenticate, authorize, and encrypt traffic in wireless networks and will explore techniques for preventing spoofing, man-in-the-middle and denial of service attacks against wireless devices.
At the end of this 5 day class, students will have an understanding of, and experience with, the proven security techniques and technologies that make secure wireless networks a reality today. By passing both a written and hands-on exam at the culmination of class, students are able to immediately take their certification away with them.
