Course Description

This half-day workshop is designed for executives who would like more knowledge of information survivability and security issues as well as approaches to protect the critical information assets of an organization.

This workshop provides participants with a foundation for understanding the activities and resources required to address the information survivability needs of an organization. Participants also gain information about building organizational commitment to the process of protecting critical information assets in the current dynamic, networked environment that global connectivity has created.

Discussion among participants about issues relevant to their organizations is essential for understanding workshop content.

This workshop will help participants to

understand the threats to an organization's mission in a globally networked environment
understand the shifts in thinking that are required to improve information survivability, given today's environment
understand information risk management approaches that can be integrated into the ongoing business management practices of an enterprise
understand the role that senior executives must play
shift from an information technology-based, security-centric, technical-solution perspective to an enterprise-based, survivability-centric, risk management perspective
gain sufficient insight to begin asking the right questions
