The goal of this program is to give the students/attendees a solid understanding of the fundamentals of information security, and information security concepts. While this class has the benefit of not being tied to a specific vendor, or certification, it is the hope of the instructor that enough knowledge will have been absorbed by the students, that they would be able to prepare for any one of several certification exams. In particular, we are referring to the new Security+ exam being offered by CompTIA, for those with the 2 years required experience, there is also the TICSA exam offered by TruSecure. Additionally there is the Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP) and Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA) offered by Security Certified.
