VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management II NG offers advanced training on VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG and delivers in-depth information on VPN and encryption technologies. In this course, you will acquire the skills necessary to set up a site-to-site VPN and roll-out a remote access VPN with either VPN-1 SecureClient or VPN-1 SecuRemote. Additionally, students will learn how to install and configure VPN-1/Firewall-1 for enterprise VPN deployments, and other general security configurations such as how to defend again syn-flood attacks and content filtering techniques.
Course Outline
User Defined Tracking
- Configuring the firewall to provide custom alerting features.
Load Balancing
- Use of Firewall-1/VPN-1 to load balance HTTP, FTP and other protocols
Content Security and CVP
- Using Firewall-1/VPN-1 to provide content screening, ActiveX and Java blocking, and integration with external servers (e.g. antivirus)
Encryption and Virtual Private Networks
- Exploration of encryption terms, concepts, and methods
Encryption Schemes
- Using Firewall-1/VPN-1 gateway and SecuRemote client for workstation to firewall (i.e., client-to-site) VPN
Policy Server
- Using Firewall-1/VPN-1 gateway and SecureClient to enforce security policy at the desktop/workstation level
SynDefender
- Theory behind various attacks, specifically syn-flooding, and configuration of Firewall-1 to defend against such attacks
Installation and Setup
- Installation and configuration on Windows 2000 and Solaris platforms
