So long as Shon Harris is teaching this course your good to go!, 2003-10-29

Had a wonderful time with shon as the teacher. She kept things focused on the goals at hand even with such amusing antics as salami diddling attacks. Shon was a great teacher and made the course for alot of the people in our class. IF shon is teaching this course you cant go wrong!

Terrific Course, 2003-11-03

While I did not have Shon as my instructor. Larry Greenblat did a terrific job. He even pointed out some mistakes on Shon's book (he did mention that she was aware of them). This is not to say who's better - but not everyone is perfect. I though it was more beneficial as another instructor whos familier with Shon's work can explain in a different way, or re-emphasize points. My only gripe was the the accomodations/food as not worth what they were charging. And I believe they do advertise the class as 7 days, even though the last day is the actual exam, which you need to arrange for yourself. But this is a small detail in an otherwise great experience.

I should have stayed at home
I took the Intense School CISSP boot camp in Florida. They crammed over 50 people into a tiny room in the back of a convention centre, that would have been fit for 25 at the very most. There was literally no room on the card table for books, you had to stack them all around yourself. When someone down a row wanted to get out, everyone had to fold up their stuff and hope no drinks spilled. It was insane. The instructor, was some bearded guy that used to work at ISC2, he was OK at best. Did a good job at preparing, when you could pay attention, but otherwise was very dull. Literally impossible to stay awake, even with gallons of coffee (that was NOT included). The worst part was he seemed very annoyed when someone would ask a question, even though im not a question asker, i was more sitting for the lecutre, one woman in the class was literally ignored by the instructor. I would have felt better saving my $3,000 and stayed at home and not gone to the cissp boot camp. I paid out of pocket, and i suppose if you have your company paying for it, it is no big deal to pay 3 grand for a boot camp. But when it is your own money you want at least a little service for the price of what could have been a nice vacation for my whole family. BTW. I managed to pass, but I feel the Intense school cissp boot camp really didnt prepare me much.
